Trail Building Dates at Floyd Hill Open Space

Clear Creek County Open Space and Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT) are delighted to once again be working with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) this summer on Floyd Hill Open Space trail building projects! VOC partnered with MALT in 2015 and 2016 to create and build the Pika Trail at Pennsylvania Mountain Natural Area. They also worked with Clear Creek County Open Space on the Rutherford Trail in Georgetown and trails in Clear Creek Canyon.

Thanks to Clear Creek and Jefferson County Open Space programs, MALT and The Trust for Public Land, a significant portion of Floyd Hill is open to the public. With the completion of these projects more hiking and biking trails will be available for people to explore. VOC has been motivating and enabling people to become active stewards of Colorado's natural resources since 1984. VOC says, "By breaking ground on a new trail in Floyd Hill Open Space, volunteers will contribute to the development of an expansive trail system that will ultimately provide miles of hiking and mountain biking opportunities for residents and visitors alike." The three volunteer project dates will be National Get Outdoors Day June 9th, a women’s only session on July 7th, and August 23rd. Go to VOC’s web site: www.voc.org (http://www.voc.org) to volunteer. Call Clear Creek County Open Space at 303-679-2305 or email at mtableman@co.clear-creek.co.us if you have questions about Floyd Hill Open Space.
