Human Services
Clear Creek County Offices Human Services provides multiple services to all age groups from prenatal to senior citizens. The department’s focus is primarily on vulnerable and "at risk" clients, such as low-income families, children in need of protection, the aged, and the disabled. In December of 1999, The Clear Creek Resource Center, located at 1531 Colorado Boulevard in Idaho Springs, opened its doors to our community. This non-profit organization houses several agencies that provide a coordination of needed services to the residents of the County. The Assistance Payments Unit of Human Services offers the following programs there:
The Child Welfare Unit is housed in the Clear Creek County Court House in Georgetown and is comprised of a dedicated team of caseworkers and Caseworker Supervisor. The areas covered by this staff are Child Protection, and Youth in Conflict. Some of the services offered by this unit are:
Human Services also helps finance services for families, including therapy, drug and alcohol evaluations, psychological evaluations, and parenting classes. The Department of Humans Services’ mission is to assist eligible clients in securing core needs, such as shelter, food, and health care, while working towards self-sufficiency, independence, and safe family surroundings. |
