FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COVID-19 County Declaration and Office Closure

March 16, 2020 - Today the Clear Creek County Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners approved a local disaster emergency declaration. This enables the county to activate certain response plans, and makes the county eligible for funds and resources that may become available to support the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This action is in-line with the State of Colorado’s Emergency Declaration on March 11, 2020, and the United States National Emergency Declaration on March 13, 2020, in dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Additionally, Clear Creek County has determined that it is in the best interest of public health and safety to close county buildings to the public in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community starting noon March 17th for two weeks until April 1st when these precautions will be reevaluated. The County will continue to offer limited essential services to the best of our ability via phone and/or online services, thereby eliminating in person interaction.  The public is directed to use the county website http://www.clearcreekcounty.us to access additional information, contact phone numbers, and service delivery options.

The County transit system (Prospector) will also cease operations at end of day March 17th until further notice.

The contacts at Clear Creek County are Beth Luther, 303-679-2312, and Keith Montag, 303-679-2490
