Good Evening,
This fast-moving public health crisis we are facing is creating extreme challenges for Clear Creek County. We appreciate the steps that have been taken by our federal and state partners in attempt to delay the inevitable the spread of COVID-19. However, our local experts have come to the conclusion that we must act now, and must act boldly. In the long run, no one will win if drastic measures are not taken immediately. Our mountain community is currently surrounded by the uncontrollable spread and outbreak of COVID-19. The pandemic presents a historic threat to the community: our families, friends and businesses. How we each respond to this public health crisis truly matters in our ability to contain the virus, maintain our health, and minimize severe outcomes.
The Clear Creek County Public and Environmental Health Department, COVID-19 Incident Management Team and the Board of County Commissioners are urging all Clear Creek County residents to strictly abide by guidelines that have been set forth to protect public health and our community. Every resident needs to practice social distancing, stay at home if possible, only leave their residence for essential services, and prepare for sheltering in place.
Your local authorities will be working diligently over the following days to implement additional measures that will slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We appreciate your cooperation during this public health emergency. Clear Creek County is a unique and resilient community and we will get through this together. Our actions will make a difference.
