[ARCHIVED] Public Notice Case SI2012-0003

Clear Creek County Public Notice
Areas and Activities of State Interest Case SI2012-0003 Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has submitted an application for ‘Areas and Activities of State Interest’ to Clear Creek County pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS) 24-65.1 and Chapter 3 of the Clear Creek County Guidelines and Regulations for Matters of State Interest

Applicant: Colorado Department of Transportation; Janet Gerak, Environmental Project Manager

Proposal: To add a third eastbound travel lane and consistent 10-foot outside shoulder to I-70 between the east Idaho Springs interchange and the base of Floyd Hill (milepost 241.4 to 244.5). This would include expanding the eastbound bore of the Twin Tunnels. The project is needed to address safety concerns and mobility challenges due to high traffic volumes and geometric conditions that result in inconsistent and slow travel times through and west of the project area.

Location: I-70 right-of-way between milepost 241.4 to 244.5.

Board of County Commissioners’ Hearing Date: Monday, 9:30 a.m., 5 November 2012, Commissioners' Hearing Room, County Courthouse, 6th and Argentine Streets, Georgetown, CO.

Written testimony may be submitted to: Frederick Rollenhagen, Clear Creek County Planning Department, P.O. Box 2000, Georgetown, CO 80444 or faxed to: (303) 569-1103, ATTN: Planning Dept., or e-mailed to: frollenhagen@co.clear-creek.co.us For more information call the Planning Department at (303) 679-2360.
